Cord Cutters Club Recommends: Death to 2021

A very fitting end to the year. Last year we had Death to 2020, which was very funny, but nobody expected us to be in the same situation a year on. Or did you? I certainly didn’t, but then I am pretty naive. The comedy Death to 2021 premiered on December 27th, telling the story of another terrible year. 

What’s the Plot?

Death to 2021 is a satirical documentary-style comedy with archival footage gathered over the year mixed with narration and commentary from the fictitious characters who are in the footage. 

The Netflix logline reads: 

‘This darkly comedic retrospective mixes real news footage and scripted talking-head interviews as it sends up the year that tried to one-up 2020.’

Who is Behind Death to 2021?

Death to 2021 is a Broke and Bones production written by Ben Caudell and executive produced by Annabel Jones and Ben Caudell. Produced by Nick Vaughan-Smith, and directed by Jack Clough and Josh Ruben.

Who Stars in Death to 2021?

The stars who play characters with names like Duke Goolies, Zero Fournine, Pyrex Flask, and Geoff, are big names such as Hugh Grant, Lucy Liu, Tracey Ullman, Samson Kayo, Joe Keery, William Jackson Harper, Stockard Channing, Cristin Milioti, Diane Morgan, and Nick Mohammed. The voice of Laurence Fishburne is also featured.
