A Naija Christmas: Nollywood’s First Christmas Movie – First Looks

Netflix just dropped a tweet this afternoon announcing its release of A Naija Christmas, a holiday-themed Nollywood family comedy movie. Coming to Netflix on Thursday 16 December, A Naija Christmas tells the story of a mother whose dying Christmas wish is for her three sons to bring home decent girls.

The release of the movie serves to show that gone are the days when Christmas was reserved for classic Hollywood flicks like Home Alone, Elf, The Grinch among others that we have been watching since the golden age.

This is only the beginning of many more non-Hollywood Christmas movies to come, and we are happy to share the experience with you.

Who Stars In A Naija Christmas?

Netflix showcases to the world the bountiful talents of West African actors like Efa Iwara, Linda Osifo and the late Rachel Oniga.

The movie’s director is Kunle Afolayan, a nominee for the Director of the Year at the Best of Nollywood Awards for the 2019 movie Diamond in the Sky. The scriptwriter is Kemi Adesoye.

What is The Movie About?

A Naija Christmas features a mother with three loyal sons who expresses that the first to get married will inherit her house. In a desperate attempt to fulfil their mom’s wish, the three men race against time to snug themselves decent women to marry before Christmas passes.

Their mother plans a huge Christmas fest to mark her life, which quickly turns into a social disaster, with the sons on each other’s throats. Will the mother get her Christmas wish? You’ll have to watch the movie to find out.
