In From the Cold: Netflix’s Adventure Spy Series Due for Release on January 28, 2022

In From the Cold is a sci-fi action and adventure spy series due for release on Netflix on January 28, 2022. The eight-episode series was written and produced by Adam Glass, who is known for Supernatural, and the first two episodes will be directed by Ami Canaan Mann, known for indie feature Texas Killing Fields. In From the Cold follows American woman Jenny Franklin, played by Margarita Levieva, on vacation with her daughter in Europe when she is forced to confront a past that she thought was well behind her.

A string of murders forces Jenny to come out of hiding, and it turns out that she is in fact a bioengineered Russian spy, who was given special abilities by the KGB in a classified experiment.

The Netflix series is expected to have a host of interesting characters. It also stars Lydia Fleming as Jenny’s daughter Becca, a competitive ice-skater who knows nothing of her mother’s dark past, and Cillian O’Sullivan as Chauncey, a CIA agent who has gone rogue in attempting to settle a personal vendetta. Ivana Sakhno and Alyona Khmelnitskaya star as Russian spies, and Charles Brice as a brilliant hacker who tries to guide rogue agent Chauncey along the right path. We will see recurring regulars throughout the series too, with Amanda Bright, Lola Mae Loughran, Anastasia Martin, and José Luis García Pérez featuring in most of the eight episodes.

This looks like it will be a great show, and we are excited to find out what kind of special abilities Jenny Franklin will possess.
