We have been waiting for news of renewal from Outer Banks since Season 2 came out in summer this year, and news broke recently that it has been renewed for another season. It is expected to start filming in Barbados in early 2022.
What is Outer Banks About?
Outer Banks is a show about a group of treasure-hunting teenagers living in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, a line of islands that are no stranger to hurricanes and flooding. Four teenaged best friends are trying to find a sunken ship that has gold treasure worth $400 million within, but they just keep on running into so many obstacles! The four teenagers call themselves The Pogues, and they team up with a rich girl from one of the islands, Sarah, after John B, a Pogue, gets romantically involved with her.
Who Stars in it?
Madelyn Cline stars as Sarah, and The Pogues are: Chase Stokes playing John B, Madison Bailey stars as Kiara, Jonathan Daviss as Pope, and Rudy Pankow is J.J.

What’s the Story So Far?
I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, so, briefly – In Seasons 1 and 2, The Pogues and Sarah do lots of sailing and swimming, treasure hunting, clue finding, fighting with rich kids, and getting attacked by bad people who are looking for the same treasure. There are some love triangles, a lot of teen romance, and some murder. Also, John B is an orphan, but all of the other Pogues are driving their parents to distraction, so there’s in-family arguing, slamming of doors, and teenagers running off into the night. It’s a fast-paced show with a lot going on but The Pogues are a great group of friends, all very loyal to one another, and it’s fun to watch.
What Will Season 3 Be About?
We don’t know yet, but we are looking forward to finding out! At the end of Season 2, The Pogues had landed, lost, on an island somewhere, and so we expect that in Season 3 they’ll have to find their way home. And they’ll have to get back to treasure hunting!
